Iconic villain Jason Voorhees shows up late to his own horror franchise in part 2 of the Friday the 13th series, taking over for his mom and slashing twice as hard to make up for lost time. And now, on this November's Friday the 13th, you can come see him in all his gritty glory on 16mm film, courtesy of our partners at the Motor City Cinema Society!

He may not be an apparent fan of ice hockey yet, wearing a minimalistic burlap sack rather than his now iconic goalie's mask, but Jason proves himself a devotee of shocking violence all the same. Few film franchises were as adept at exploiting the 1980s teen's insatiable bloodlust, and few films disgusted critics quite like this beloved low-budget excuse to reach new heights in the arms race towards revolting gory set pieces. The plot may be beside the point, but here goes: teenage camp counselors get stalked and horrifically dispatched by a killer who might be a deranged and vengeful son, presumed dead. Will there be room for a sequel when the blood dries?

Don't miss this landmark horror entry on the big screen at the Senate!
