Unrated "Badder Santa" cut
This Christmas season we're bringing a quintessential piece of holiday counterprogramming to our big screen, a movie that asks: Ho, oh no! Why is Santa saying bad words and committing grand larceny!
It's Bad Santa, starring Bernie Mac, Lauren Graham, John Ritter and Billy Bob Thornton as the titular right jolly ol' scumbag! A nihilistic and sex addicted mall Santa Clause performer, Willie T. Soke's true line of work is actually professional thievery. Together with his partner, (Tony Cox) this perverse mockery of Saint Nick plans to stage a heist at the very consumer wonderland at which he is nominally employed.
But the emptiness in Willie's heart can never be filled with material gains or carnal pleasures. At the edge of oblivion can the spark of human connection and the innocence of a child bring him something to live for?
That's classic Christmas stuff, really. The bounty of R-rated comedy antics crammed into every frame? Not so much. But what's veneration without irreverence? Faith without doubt? A wonderful life without the struggle?
Parking is available in our gated lot, on Gilbert, and Michigan Avenue

You'd better watch out - Willie T. Soke is coming to town, and he doesn't care if you've been naughty or nice. Willie's favorite holiday tradition is to fill his sacks with loot lifted from shopping malls across the country. But this year his plot gets derailed by a wisecracking store detective, a sexy bartender, and a kid who's convinced Willie is the real Santa Claus.
